Many Blessings!
My name is Mary Evans, and I purchased Dry Creek Herb Farm during
the
summer of 2006. My intention is to preserver the intent, integrity,
and vision for the farm
as created by Shatoiya and Rick De La Tour in 1988--and enhanced
by Susan A. Smith from 2000 until 2006. I honor all those who
have come before me. The farm will continue to serve as a tool
for healing and transformation. It is my intention that you experience
the same quality of herbs and service that is the hallmark of
Dry Creek Herb Farm.
I grew up in Northern California, steeped in farm and forest alike.
I am bound to the scent, shape, texture, color, and seasonal growth
cycles of all things botanical. Simply, I love the world of herb-growing,
harvesting, drying--and, the storage in glass jars for use in the
depths of winter. I bless every herbal tea, tincture, and balm that
I prepare.
Please
browse through our offerings, and know that each single plant or
blend was chosen or prepared with meticulous attention to detail
for quality. Our herbs are grown organically, or ethically wild-crafted. The
information on this site is for educational purposes only, and is
not intended to diagnose, treat, or cure any disease. Please consult
a qualified health care professional if you have any serious medical
condition.
News From Shatoiya
Dear Ones,
I am so happy to be able to connect with you via this web site. As you know, Bubba and I don’t do the net thing, so it is with thanks to Mary Evans that we can reach out to you at this time.
In September, 2006, Mary bought the Dry Creek Herb Farm business from the former owner, Susan Smith. Susan did a great job of continuing the Farm’s commitment to offering the highest quality herbs and herb products. She is also an amazing herbalist and researcher, and she has helped many people with her wealth of herb and nutritional information. In her desire to simplify her life, Susan found the perfect person to pass on the Dry Creek Herb Farm baton. Mary Evans has a long history of healing work, including herbs and energy work, and a degree in art therapy. Some of you have had the privilege to view or own her incredible art work. Some of you knew her as an associate of the farm, teaching Feng Shui classes. She studied Feng Shui for many years with the honorable Master Lin Yun. Mary’s studies in energetics along with her deep connection to the plant realm make her a great asset to the community of herbs and healing.
Mary is also creating a wonderful healing and nature sanctuary at her home off Highway 49. Her commitment to the plant world is evident there, and her vision of enhancing the human/ plant relationship spills over into the Dry Creek Herb Farm business. She is considering offering classes in this space, so keep posted to see how things progress. We hope you will support her in her endeavors, and avail yourself of the great products and services she has to offer. Venues of this type are needed now more than ever.
Bubba and I continue to enjoy our life here in the mountains above the Hood River Valley. We have immersed ourselves in the community, the beauty and the wild nature here, and expressing the joy that comes from that in our art. I continue to work with glass. Bubba still creates in glass, but is also exploring painting and drawing. I also have been studying an energy work for several years called GeoTran. It is a multi-faceted discipline that I will be exploring for years to come.
Those of you who passed through the Dry Creek Herb Farm, either as students, regular customers, or clients, know we think of you, wonder how you are, and wish you well. Our greatest hope is that we may have inspired you in some small way to greater health and happiness and that you continue to thrive and prosper. May you and your families have a wonderful year.
As Garrison Keillor says, “Be well. Do good work. Keep in touch.”
Blessings,
Rick and Shatoiya |
